FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

1. Does SEWcial Time do Long-arm quilting?
Not at this time.  We are currently referring customers to other trusted long-arm quilters, but plan to provide this service soon. Contact us for a referral or more information at (918) 731-4389.

2. Does SEWcial Time provide sewing machine servicing and repair? Yes! With four or more machines in need of servicing, SEWcial Time will arrange for them to be serviced and/or repaired by a gentleman with MANY years of experience (literally since the 1950s!!). He is also training one of our own to perform machine service and repair so that there won't be a wait if someone needs only one machine serviced. Please submit a request under the Extras tab to get this scheduled.

3.  What types of classes does SEWcial Time provide?
  • Basic Sewing Classes for beginners to learn to sew both by hand and using machines.
  • Introduction to Quilting for Beginners
  • Various Quilting Method Classes
  • Appliqué
  • SEWcial Time (Open Sewing where sewers come together with their own various projects and work together to complete their individual tasks while offering support, guidance, and fellowship)
  • and many more classes!
The class schedule can be found under the Calendar tab and the Classes tab.  When clicked, the image icon and class title will redirect to that class's information page, where more information about the class can be found - including: description, information about the instructor, course requirements, costs, and other information relevant to that particular class. Remember to check back frequently as the calendar is updated regularly!

4.  Does SEWcial Time do alterations? No, but we know a very talented and experienced person who does! Her name is Teresa Garcia, and her phone number is 505-320-2114. Her email address is terelamuneca2@gmail.com. She lives less than 2 miles from SEWcial Time.

5. Does SEWcial Time make Memory Bears, Memory Quilts, T-shirt Quilts, and other products for people who do not want to learn to sew for themselves?
SEWcial Time is dedicated to teaching people how to sew their own cherished projects and enjoy the fellowship of sewing together. However, we understand that some people have no interest in sewing but want to have these types of cherished keepsakes. So we'd like to refer you to Elisabeth's Quilted Keepsakes, where two sisters, Jessica Osborne (918-424-8754) and Emily Shannon (918-424-8864), make these precious products for other people. These young ladies have grown up sewing and quilting, so they have a wealth of experience. https://www.facebook.com/eqkeepsakes

6. How old do you have to be for the classes?
Each class is different, and requires different skill levels; therefore, the Class tab will include course details, including if a class has a required age. The hope is to provide classes for children, teens, and adults. However, due to safety concerns and the complexity of some projects, some projects may not be suited for younger children. Plans are in the works for a parent/child course that will teach young children and parents simultaneously so that young children can be included and an adult can be present to ensure the child's safety, AND both can enjoy learning together.

7.  How much do the classes cost? Teachers travel from various areas and set their own prices, which compensate them for their time, expertise, and travel expenses. The teachers keep 100% of their fees, and costs vary depending on these factors. However, the cost of each course will be listed with the other details about the courses on both the Calendar and the Classes pages.

8. Will SEWcial Time be selling crochet products, clothing fabrics and notions, cross-stitch products, or other types of crafting products or classes? At this time, SEWcial Time will be limited to Quilting supplies, fabrics, patterns, books, and notions. However, with enough community interest and as the business grows, the goal is to accommodate additional types of sewing and crafts. In the meantime, all sewing and needlework enthusiasts are welcome to be a part of SEWcial Time (open sewing), where each person works on their own projects alongside other hobbyists just for the fellowship and joy of time together.
